Lincoln's State of the Union address, in a Washington, D.C. newspaper...

Item # 729156 ·
DAILY NATIONAL INTELLIGENCER, Washington, D.C., Dec. 4, 1861

* President Abraham Lincoln
* 1st State of the Union Address

Most of page 2 is taken up with: "The President's Message" being the annual state-of-the-union address of the President to Congress, signed in type at its conclusion: Abraham Lincoln.

Logically, much of his focus is on the on-going Civil War and its progress, although there is much more about the state of the nation. Page 3 has an editorial headed: "The President's Message".

Terrific to have Lincoln's message in a newspaper from the city where the address was given.
Four pages, nice condition.
