1977 "Alice Cooper" live concert advertisement...

Item # 729040 ·
LOS ANGELES TIMES, May 1, 1977 (an original vintage newspaper leaf from the Calendar section)  This offering consists of four complete pages (two double-sided sheets on one single leaf) featuring a collectible print advertisement for a upcoming live performance by "ALICE COOPER" at Anaheim Stadium on one of the four pages.

In addition to the feature concert ad, which captures the era's unique promotional graphic design and typography, the surrounding pages provide a fascinating cultural snapshot of late 20th-century entertainment. Printed on authentic aged newsprint with genuine vintage toning, this original leaf is not a modern reprint, making it an ideal candidate for custom framing, local history display, or inclusion in a dedicated rock or pop culture memorabilia collection.

Experience music history in the making with authentic, original newspaper advertisements capturing the opening-night premieres of legendary live concert performances, sourced straight from the entertainment capital of the world.

Background: The June 19, 1977 concert at Anaheim Stadium was a landmark day-long rock spectacle that served as the grand kickoff for Alice Cooper’s "King of the Silver Screen" tour behind his Lace and Whiskey album. Performing in front of nearly 50,000 fans, Cooper headlined an eclectic bill that featured The Kinks, The Tubes, Nazareth, Sha Na Na, and comedy-rock hosts Flo & Eddie. The theatrical centerpiece was Cooper’s massive stage set designed as a giant, functional television screen—complete with slit openings that allowed him and his troupe of dancers to seamlessly step in and out of rear-projected film sequences, climaxing in surreal set pieces like machine-gun-wielding dancing chickens during the performance of "Lace and Whiskey." The event's iconic visual production and high-energy sets were captured on film and syndicated nationwide that autumn as the classic concert special Alice Cooper and Friends (and later released on home video), immortalizing one of the premier stadium rock events of the late 1970s.
