THE EDINBURGH ADVERTISER, Scotland, Jan. 6, 1775  There are various reports concerning the troubling relationship between England & the American colonies, including: "The Petition from the American Congress to the King, has been presented to his Majesty...The case of Dyer, the Bostonian, who, upon a frivolous pretense of seducing one of Gage's soldiers, was seized at Boston & sent in irons to London, is truly alarming...It is not possible that the Bostonians could ever so offend against the mother country as to deserve the horrible punishment of being tried in London for a crime supposed to be committed in America..." with more on this
