THE NEW WORLD, Philadelphia, Jan. 28, 1797  Page 2 has much reporting from the "House of Representatives o the United States" which includes the latest news on: "Naval Affairs" noting in part: "...that on the 9th of June 1794 it was determined to build six frigates & that the sum of near 700,000 dollars was the sum estimated for that service...That in 1796 it was deemed expedient to suspend the building of three of the frigates in order to carry on the building of the rest with more effect..." with more. These 3 would be the famed frigates United States, Constitution, and Constellation.
