Complete with all 50+ pages, some wear and small binding holes along the spine, small library stamp within the masthead, other minor margin wear, generally in good condition.

Background:On December 1, 1960, the Soviet Union launched Korabl-Sputnik 3 with two dogs, Pchyolka and Mushka, to test spacecraft life-support and reentry systems before human spaceflight. The mission carried other animals and scientific instruments. Although the flight went well, a reentry malfunction caused the capsule to stray off course, prompting Soviet officials to activate its self-destruct, killing both dogs and all onboard. Despite the loss, the mission provided valuable data that helped pave the way for Yuri Gagarin’s historic spaceflight in 1961.
