Death of famed actor/singer Al Jolson... First to star in a "talking picture"...

Item # 717415 ·
POUGHKEEOSIE NEW YORKER, New York, Oct. 24, 1950

* Al Jolson death (1st report)
* "The Jazz Singer" fame
* Singer - comedian actor

The front page has a three-line heading: "Al Jolson Dies With a Quip on His Lips", which is followed by text and a photo. The article continues on page 4 with additional details. Nice to have the report and photo on the front page.
Note: Among other things, Al Jolson is credited with being the first star of a "talking picture", as well as being the first openly Jewish man to become a star in the United States.
Complete in 16 pages, even toning, a slightly rough left spine, a few minor margin tears, and although fragile, is overall good.
