DAILY ILLINOIS STATE JOURNAL, Springfield, June 24, 1857  This is an uncommon newspaper from Abraham Lincoln's hometown, containing on the top half of the front page an advertisement, albeit rather small, for "LINCOLN & HERNDON, Attorneys and Counsellors At Law".
A very desirable and early reminder of Lincoln's law practice before he would be thrust into American history forever. Also, this is likely the only newspaper in the country in which this ad could be found.
Four pages, rejoined at the spine, close-trimmed to the bottom portion of the front leaf affecting some letters, otherwise good.
