THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, June 12, 1787 Most of a column has: "Remarks on Manners, Government, Laws & the Domestic Debt of America, addressed to the Citizens of the United States of America".
This is a fascinating, cynical letter which begins: "Since the declaration & establishment of a general peace & since this country has had an opportunity to experience the effects of her independence...was expected that on the ratification of peace by the belligerent powers America would enjoy perfect political tranquility..." with more, then the writer expounds upon the many problems in America that independence has brought.
Eight pages, never bound nor trimmed, 9 by 12 inches, very nice condition.
