DREWRY'S DERBY MERCURY, England, Dec. 11, 1783 The front page has an interesting letter debating the possible uses for the "...M. Montgolfier's discovery...", the hot air balloon.
Page 3 has items from America with one item noting: "...a gentleman lately from Philadelphia that that city never appeared to be in a more prosperous way; its spacious streets are crowded with foreign merchants...". A bit from the S. Carolina Gazette as well.
The back page has items from the N.Y. Gazette, including: "...a Proclamation forbidding all persons from making settlements on lands claimed by Indians..." and a few other items.
Four pages, some rubbing to a portion of the front page, generally good condition.
