NEW YORK TRIBUNE, April 18, 1865  All columns on all 8 pages are black-bordered for the death of Abraham Lincoln. The top of the first column has heads: "OUR NATIONAL LOSS" "Secretary Seward Better" "His Son Conscious" "Preparations For The Funeral" "Neither of the Assassins Yet Secured" "The New Executive" "His Probable Policy" "New York in Mourning" plus many smaller, related column heads throughout the front page.
