THE BALLOON GRAPHIC, New York, Aug. 9, 1873 This was an: "Extra Number of the Daily Graphic" newspaper, a successful, folio-size newspaper of 8 pages the existed from 1873 thru 1889, containing 3 pages of prints, the first daily paper in America to feature prints.
This issue was an "extra" edition with details on the planned trans-Atlantic balloon flight to happen in early October. But the flight was less than spectacular, ending 500 miles after liftoff with a landing in Connecticut.
Eight pages, never bound nor trimmed so it folds out to one large sheet, very nice condition.
