One of the best headlines on the "Black Sox" scandal to be had...

Item # 715495 ·

THE SAN FRANCISCO CALL, Sept. 28, 1920  Among the most desired reports in all of baseball history are those covering the infamous "Black Sox" World Series scandal of 1919, in which players of the Chicago White Sox were accused of gambling on the games.
And when it comes to reports on this scandal, this front page would be difficult to beat as well.
The huge & bold banner headline announces: "CICOTTE JAILED" with a large subhead: "8 CHISOX INDICGTED ON CONFESSION OF 1919 SERIES BRIBERY" with more.
Also great are the eight photos of those: "Accused Chicago Ball Players" with captions of each by name.
There is additional reports on the scandal on the sports page: "In The Crusade To Save Baseball From The Gamblers" with photos of Charles Comiskey, William Veeck, Ban Johnson, Rube Benton and Samuel Pass.
A nice issue for display, nice condition with minimal margin wear 20 pages.
