DAILY EVENING STANDARD, New Bedford, Massachusetts, Feb. 21, 1851 Two articles take most of a page 2 column: "The Boston Slave Hunt" with an interesting account. it notes in part: "It is amusing to witness the wry faces...over the unsuccessful efforts...at negro catching. So long a time had elapsed since a really serious attempt had been made to catch a negro in the city of the Puritans...But as good luck would have it, the negro would not stay caught. He had tasted the blessings of freedom & was determined to be free..." with much more.
