SALEM GAZETTE, Massachusetts, Sept. 14, 1827  Pagte 2 has nearly a full column headed: "Political" which is mostly about the politics of Thomas Jefferson. Included is a lengthy letter from: "Mr. Jefferson's to Mr. Giles" dated at Monticello Dec. 26, 1825, & signed by him in type: Thomas Jefferson. This would likely be one of his last, signed letters to appear in a newspaper as he would die just over 6 months later on the 4th of July.
This is followed by a report beginning: "I happened to be in 
Richmond the day on which the Pirates were hung, and in an attempt to obtain their bodies for galvanic experiments..." with more.
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, some foxing at upper folds, good condition.
