COLUMBIAN CENTINEL, Boston Nov. 7, 1812  A very historic issue as the front page contains a quite nice & detailed account headed "Battle of Queenstown" (Queenston Heights) in Ontario, Canada. 
In this battle American general Stephen Van Rensselaer leads his 600 man force across the Niagara River to capture Queenston Heights. British General Isaac Brock is killed in the action but the Americans are defeated by the 1000 man British force when the New York state militia refuses to come to Rensselaer's aid on the grounds that their commission does not require them to proceed beyond the boundaries of the state. The text carries over to page 2 where there is a list of killed, wounded and those taken prisoner.
Four pages, irregular at the margins but no loss of text, good condition.
