The Battle of Baltimore in the War of 1812...
COLUMBIAN CENTINEL, Boston, Oct. 1, 1814 The front page has 1 1/2 columns taken up with an editorial headed "All the Objects of the War attained" which is signed in type: "A Peace Advocate".
Also taking 1 1/2 columns on the front page is: "Events Of The War--Near Baltimore" being a lengthy & detailed letter from Brig. Gen. Stricker to Major General Smith which is an excellent account dated Sept. 15 concerning the battle of Baltimore, during which Baltimore effectively defends itself against a joint land and water attack by the British.
There are additional reports on the War of 1812 on page 2 including: "British Official Account of Affairs on Lake Champlain" "Particulars of the late disastrous Affair on Lake Champlain" and "Events of the War--In the Chesapeake" and other war tidbits as well.
A very historic issue & great to have this historic content entirely on the front page. Four pages, nice condition.
