Nice on the Constitution's victory over the Guerriere...
THE YANKEE, Boston, Oct. 16, 1812 Most of a front page column is taken up with a very historic report: "Constitution and Guerriere - Capt. Dacres' Account of his Battle with the Constitution" datelined at Halifax, close to where the naval battle was fought. This significant victory over what was considered the world's more formidable navy did much to boost American morale during the early months of the War of 1812.
Other reports include: "Presidential Election" "North-Western Army" "Our Navy". Also included is: "A Proclamation" signed by the President: James Madison, offering conditional pardon to deserters from the military.
Four pages, a small piece from the spine margin affects a few words on pages 1 and 2 but not to any mentioned reports, good condition.
