GAZETTE OF THE UNITED STATES, New York, June 26, 1790   One-third of the front page is taken up with early reports from Congress, carrying over to page 2.
The middle of page 2 is taken up with an Act of Congress concerning establishing federal judicial courts in Rhode Island, signed in type by John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and George Washington, and headed with a nice engraving of a heraldic eagle. Keep in mind that Rhode Island had recently ratified the Constitution, the last of the original 13 colonies to do so. Keep in mind also that New York was the nation's capital at this time.
Over half of page 3 is taken up with reports from Congress, one item noting a motion to move the next session of Congress to Baltimore, which was "negatived".
Four pages, wide, never-trimmed margins, a bit of foxing, very nice condition.
