THE SADDLE BLANKET, 2nd Cavalry Brigade, Admiralty Islands, July 25, 1944  This is the volume 1, number 5 issue of a camp newspaper produced by & for soldiers. The Admiralty Islands are an archipelago group of 40 islands to the north of New Guinea in the South Pacific Ocean.
As was typical of most military camp newspapers of World War II it was crudely produced on a mimeograph machine, typewriter set with hand-drawn cartoons.
Two loose sheets providing 4 pages, 8 by 13 pages, once stapled at the top, some chipping at the blank margins.
