Hailing itself as the "most bombed newspaper", this military publication was printed in the jungles of New Guinea, hence the title.
The headline announces: "ATOM BOMB CREATED" "War's Most Terrible Weapon Launched On Japan - 'Could Destroy Man' -Truman".
This newspaper may well be the closest to Japan of any we have offered.

Background: In August of 1945, during the final stages of World War II, the United States dropped an atomic bomb named "Little Boy" on Hiroshima, Japan, marking the first use of nuclear weapons in warfare. The bomb devastated the city, killing an estimated 70,000–80,000 people instantly, with total deaths rising significantly due to radiation and injuries. The attack aimed to force Japan’s surrender and was followed by a second bombing on Nagasaki three days later. These events contributed to Japan’s surrender on August 15, effectively ending World War II and ushering in the nuclear age.
