Dealing with the "traitors" after the war...

Item # 711376 ·
THE WEEKLY HERALD, New York, June 3, 1865  A wealth of fine reporting on the finishing-up of the Civil War and more. Front page column heads include: "AMNESTY" "The Terms of Pardon for the Rebels" "President Johnson's Treatment of Traitors" "No Pardon for Rebel Governors, Ex-United States Congressmen & Judges, Renegade West Pointers...." "How a Pardon May be Obtained" "General Lee To Be Arrested" "THE LEADERS" "Justice After The Taitors" "Jeff Davis & Breckinridge Indicted for High Treason" " 'IT IS FINISHED' " "Surrender of Kirby Smith & the Last Army of the Rebels" "The Rebellion Entirely Over" "The Last Battle of the War" & even more, with fine column heads on page 2 as well.
Eight pages, never bound nor trimmed so it folds out to a single sheet, a bit of very light dirtiness to the front page, nice condition.
