THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, April 5, 1783

 Page 5 has a notable report: "...Capt. Humphries, from New York to London...sailed from New York...and the Captain says that on the morning of the said day, peace was proclaimed at New York and Valley Forge, in consequence of advices from Europe; that the preliminaries had been signed the 20th of January; he adds, that the murmurs & discontents at New York on account of the pacification, and the little regard paid to the interests of the Loyalists, are beyond description; sadness, terror, and disappointment, being plainly visible in almost every countenance...".
Eight pages, never bound nor trimmed, 9 by 12 inches, minor rubbing to a front leaf fold,  nice condition.
