SATURDAY EVENING POST, Philadelphia, March 29, 1851  The top of the front page features a nice print of: "Pyramid Lake, Oregon" which would seem to be one of the earlier prints of it to be found in any periodical. Beneath the print is very descriptive text.

Background:Pyramid Lake in Oregon is a small, serene alpine lake located in the Mount Hood National Forest within the Roaring River Wilderness, at an elevation of about 3,993 feet. Accessed via the Pyramid Lake Road Trailhead, the hike to the lake is short—only 0.23 miles—but steep, gaining around 240 feet in elevation through silver fir and mountain hemlock forests. While the trail can be overgrown, it offers a peaceful and scenic spot for nature lovers. The area also features other trails and attractions for those exploring the broader Roaring River Wilderness.
