* New York Yankees World Series
* 1st year as champions (game 2)
* 1st year at Yankee Stadium - Babe Ruth

The top of the front page has a terrific banner headline: "RUTH'S HOMERS BEAT GIANTS" with subheads. (see images) Continued coverage in the sport's section with box scores. Some related photos on the back page including a neat multi photo collage of Ruth's home run swing. It was also their first year playing at Yankee Stadium, "The House That Ruth Built".

wikipedia notes: In the 1923 World Series, the New York Yankees beat the New York Giants in six games. This would be the first of the Yankees' 26 World Series championships (as of 2008). The home field alternated each game, a noted difference to the 2–3–2 format.
