Memorial issue on Grant's death...
FRANK LESLIE'S ILLUSTRATED NEWSPAPER, New York, 1885 (no month or day listed). This is a special edition as the typical masthead is not here & in its place is: "GRANT MEMORIAL NUMBER" with a front page print of Grant on his death bed, along with the Liberty figure. The doublepage centerfold is a huge portrait of: "Ulysses S. Grant" with other Grant-related prints inside as well.
Sixteen pages, never bound nor trimmed, there are many tears at the margins, some archivally repaired, so offered as a somewhat "2nd rate" issue.
Item from our new catalog - #372, released for November, 2026
