SPORTING TIMES & THEATRICAL NEWS, Boston, Oct. 16, 1869 This is one of the less common illustrated titles in the Harper's Weekly format. Although supposedly a "Sporting Times" the reports seem more sensational--sort of the tabloid paper of the day.
The front page shows: "Bears in the Drawing Room--The Peculiar Pets of Two Harlem Belles" and among prints inside: "Ludicrous Affair In Cincinnati--A Disappointed Lover Leaps Through a Window".
Sixteen pages, never bound nor trimmed, wear at the margins, some rubbing, a few mends at the margins.
