Existed to report on Chicago's Columbian Exposition...

Item # 697745 ·
THE WORLD'S FAIR NEWS, Chicago, May, 1893  The Columbian Exposition was a major event at the time, meant to celebrate the 500th anniversary of Columbus' arrival in America (construction issues delayed the opening). This is the volume 1, number 1 issue. It would have ceased publication upon the end of the Fair.
This short-lived newspaper existed to report on everything one would want to know about the Fair. The front page features a nice montage of points of; "Principal Buildings of the World's Fair" with a wealth of additional graphics inside. There is also a wealth of portraits of people promoting Hood's Sarsaparilla, seemingly one of the sponsors of this newspaper & perhaps the Fair.
Eight pages, various foxing throughout, otherwise good condition.
