This is a special, broadside edition that existed for about 11 days during the historic General Strike in England, May 4-12. The strike, led by the Trades Union Congress, was an ultimately unsuccessful attempt to prevent wage reductions and other damages to the livelihoods of coal miners. 
Printed on one side only, almost all of the reports related in some way to the General Strike. The size of the newspaper was reduced for the 11 days, yet printed on high-quality newsprint.
Complete as a single sheet, blank on the reverse, 11 by 17 1/2 inches, some scattered soiling, minimal wear, generally good condition.
