First of this title we've offered in many years...

Item # 694352 ·
AMERICAN HERALD, Boston, March 6, 1788  A quite rare & short-lived title, only the third of which we have offered in the past 20+ years. This issue is from our private collection. It published in Boston from 1784 - 1788 then moved to Worcester where it lasted for a year.
Page 3 has an Act from Rhode Island concerning the creation of a body to consider ratification of the new Constitution.
Rhode Is. was the last of the original 13 colonies to ratify the Constitution, doing so in 1790.
Page 3 also has a nice report on the funeral of Mass. Governor Thomas Cushing, with a crude print of "The Corpse" in a coffin.
Four pages, printed on thick-stock newsprint, never bound nor trimmed, very small bit from the blank spine, very nice condition.

Item from our most recent catalog - #370 - released for September, 2026
