Aviation history is made in 1919...

Item # 693947 ·
BOSTON EVENING TRANSCRIPT, May 28, 1919

* NC-4 flying boat (historic aviation feat)
* Transatlantic flight (1st aircraft to achieve this)

The front page announces the first aircraft to fly across the Atlantic Ocean. One column headings include: "NC-4 Won For America" "First to Fly from Hemisphere to Hemisphere" and more. (see) This event was very significant at the time, but was overshadowed just a few week later when Alcock & Brown made the first non-stop trans-Atlantic flight, and then of course the first non-stop solo flight by Lindbergh 8 years later.
Thirty-eight pages, light toning and some wear at the margins, loose along the spine, must be handled with care.
