NEW YORK TIMES, Nov. 29, 1862 Among the front page column heads on the Civil War are: "Army Operations In Virginia" "Great Accumulation of Rebel Forces Near Fredericksburg" "An Important Reconnoissance Toward Port Conway" "The Delay in the Advance of the Army" "Important From Port Royal" and more.
Inside has over half a column on: "Affairs In Utah" which includes in part: "...Senator Laetham is passing through the city on his way to Washington...calling upon the celebrities of Salt Lake. As the California Senator voted against the Polygamy Bill, Mr. Lathan would doubtless be on comforable terms with Brigham. Utah now is entirely surrounded with gold mines..." with much more descriptive text.
Also inside; "An Appeal for the Indians - A Letter To President Lincoln from Father Beeson" who was a well-known advocate of the native Americans.
