NEW-ENGLAND PALLADIUM, Boston, May 18, 1802  Page 2 has an item concerning clockmaker Jacob Alrichs. Also a report of a slave insurrection near Lynchburg, noting: "...that a conspiracy among the negroes there...some of the ringleaders...are in custody...The plan of those misguided wretches was to have...massacred their masters & all others that opposed their measures...to effect their freedom or perish in the attempt."
