This was the: "Daily Newspaper of U.S. Armed Forces in the European Theater of Operations" as noted in the masthead. Penciled at the top is "War Dept."
The front page reports include: "400 Superforts Hit 5 Cities in Japan; Balikpapan Seized" "Jap Homeland Hit for 32nd Straight Day" and more. But most notably is a photo showing a Japanese Kamikaze attack on U.S. warship with brief text. The name of this ship was not mentioned here, probably due to secrecy. But through research I concluded this was the USS Columbia. (see image) Rarely do newspapers of the day show such images.
Eight pages, tabloid-size, nice condition.
