ST. LOUIS GLOBE-DEMOCRAT, Oct. 7, 1883  Page 4 has a quite lengthy & very detailed, descriptive article headed: "Santa Barbara" in California. It offers much praise on the area, beginning: "The out-of-door life that one leads here is not of the least charm of the place, and the process of acclimatization converts every one to the same idle, luxurious way of enjoying the simile, peaceful life that marked the old Spanish people..." with much, much more.
Twenty pages, very nice condition.
