DAILY NATIONAL INTELLIGENCER, Washington, D.C., Aug. 27, 1852
* John Williams Gunnison book review
* The Mormons or Latter-Day Saints
The bottom of the front page has a short ad for "Uncle Tom's Cabin".
Page 3 under: "New Books" is a report on: "The Mormons, or Latter-Day Saints in the Valley of the Great Salt Lake, by Lieut. J. W. Gunnison...". The review begins: "A more interesting book than this if Lieut. Gunnison's has not appeared for many a day. It meets a want for something fair, unprejudiced, and trustworthy on a subject not merely of scientific or speculative, but of political and national interest..." with more.
Four pages, a few archival mends at margins, nice condition.
