NEW YORK TIMES, May 8 and August 15, 1945  A pair of iconic issues often featured in books, magazines, photos, school books & elsewhere in reference to the end of WWII.
May 8 has a four line banner headline: "THE WAR IN EUROPE IS ENDED ! SURRENDER IS UNCONDITIONAL; V-E WILL BE PROCLAIMED TODAY; OUR TROOPS ON OKINAWA GAIN" with many subheads and a related photo showing a huge, celebratory crowd in Times Square.
Complete with all 34 pages, very nice condition.

Aug. 15 has a banner headline: "JAPAN SURRENDERS, END OF WAR !  EMPEROR ACCEPTS ALLIED RULE; M'ARTHUR SUPREME COMMANDER; OUR MANPOWER CURBS VOIDED" with many related subheads and photo. More on the following pages.
Complete in 36 pages, very nice condition.
