COLUMBIAN CENTINEL, Boston, Feb. 13, 1799  The front page and a few items inside relate to the tensions between the U.S. and France, relating to what would be called the Quasi-War.
Page 2 includes: "Buonaparte's Proclamation" concerning the assassination of a French aid de camp, noting: "...they should be brought as hostages to Cairo. The town shall be pillaged and no house left standing..." signed in type: Buonaparte.
Four pages, some minor margin tears, nice condition.
