The sports page has one column heads. on the "Black Sox" World Series scandal of 1919: "Judge Dever Drops Charges Against Sox" "State's Attorney to Gather New Evidence--Blames Predecessors for Collapse of Case Thursday". The report begins: "Immediate prosecution of Chicago White Sox base ball players & others indicted in connection with the alleged throwing of the 1919 world series collapsed today when the state...dropped the cases against seven of the players & Judge Dever took the others off the court call..." with more (see).
