Frank Sinatra's first mention...

Item # 681497 ·
NEW YORK TIMES, June 2, 1940  In the "Drama--Screen--Music" section is an inconspicuous report concerning the Tommy Dorsey band, and noting that it includes: "...Frank Sinatra singing the sentimental tunes..." and which also includes mention of Buddy Rich "...unmercifully thrashing the skins..." as well. A significant report, as this was the very first mention of Frank Sinatra in the prestigious New York Times, and before his stardom would skyrocket now that he joined the Tommy Dorsey band (was previously with Harry James).
Great item for any Sinatra collector.
The complete Sunday edition with over 100 pages. Front page damage is mostly at the margins, minor margin wear elsewhere, otherwise in good condition.
