EVENING PRESS, Island of Guernsey (in the English Channel), June 2, 1944
* Rare German occupation publication
* Nazis prepare for D-Day invasion
* World War II - WWII - William Joyce
A very curious issue, as Guernsey, an English-speaking island, was occupied by the Germans during WWII so all the news was pro-Nazi.
Among the front page reports is: "Fortification on the European Coasts" is an interesting report on how General Rommel is preparing for an attack by the Allies, presuming the Southern coast of France to be a logical place. Other interesting comments from just 4 days before the invasion would happen.
Four pages, 12 by 12 1/2 inches, very nice condition.
