NILES' WEEKLY REGISTER, Baltimore, Aug. 5, 1826  All of pages 1 & 2 are filled with content on: "The Declaration of Independence", this being the 50th anniversary.
Inside has: "Interesting Collection of Articles - Relative to Revolutionary Events, & Persons, or More Especially Pertaining to the Lives and Characters of the Patriarchs, ADAMS and JEFFERSON..." then with some details on: "John Adams - Anecdotes & Scraps"  followed by: "Thomas Jefferson - Anecdotes and Scraps - Particulars of Thomas Jefferson's Death".
Further on is a lengthy: "General Smith's Oration" on the death of both Jefferson & Adams, who died on July 4, it taking over 5 pages.
Sixteen pages, 6 1/4 by 9 3/4 inches, only minimal foxing, very nice condition.

This newspaper began in 1811 and was a prime source for national political news of the first half of the 19th century. As noted in Wikipedia, this title: "...(was) one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States...Devoted primarily to politics...considered an important source for the history of the period."
