The bold banner headline announces: "RUTH'S STAY ILLEGAL" concerning the murder trial of Ruth Snyder and her paramour, Judd Gray, both found guilty of murdering Ruth's husband. A large photo of the two headed: "Ruth Snyder Moans in Terror of Death Chair". They would be executed that evening.
Her execution was made famous when a journalist secretly took a photo inside the execution chamber, shown on the front page of the New York Daily News.
