Page 2 begins with an interesting editorial, a portion noting: "...If we are successful & retain Richmond, there will be foreign intervention & peace...before the month of June. If we are defeated & lose Richmond the Confederacy is launched on a wide, troubled & uncertain sea of accidents...".
