LOS ANGELES STAR, California, Feb. 15, 1862  Save for a damaged issue from 1861, this is the earliest Los Angeles newspaper we have offered, and from the Civil War no less. At this time the population of Los Angeles was less than 5,000.
The reports include: "The News" "The Flood at Fort Yuma" "From Mexico" "The Latest Eastern Intelligence" and more.
Four pages, a bit irregular at the bottom margin, good condition.
