The front page has the full-banner dramatic headline: "'FOR LIBERTY'--DARROW PLEA," with the subheading: "BIGOTRY PERILS OUR RIGHTS, HE FLINGS AT BRYAN", which continues on page two. Also included on the front page is a large related sketch captioned: "TRYING TO DICTATE TO HER."Another "Scopes" article is also found on page 2. The back page has a photo captioned: "Judge's Daughters Greet Bryan."

Complete in 32 pages, average condition for the era with edge chipping, flaking, and multiple archival tape mends. Even toning. See images for details.

Background Note (source: history.com) The Scopes Trial, also known as the Scopes Monkey Trial, was the 1925 prosecution of science teacher John Scopes for teaching evolution in a Tennessee public school, which a recent bill had made illegal.
