This 36 page newspaper has the very 1st review of the all black cast Broadway musical "Cabin in the Sky"
Page 19 has a heading: "Ethel Waters Heads Players of 'Cabin in the Sky,' a Musical Fantasy With a Negro Cast" with photo of Waters and list of cast (see images) This musical premiered on Broadway just the day before. It was the first all black Broadway show in 14 years at the time. Also on the same page is a small ad for this famous musical. Only papers from New York City would have this report as this is where it premiered.
