Half of page 3 is taken up with reports on the trial of John Brown for his raid at Harper's Ferry, with first column heads: "John Brown's Writ of Error" "His Petition to the Court of Appeals of Virginia--Unanimous Decision of the Court Refusing the Prayer" which concerns his wish for his death sentence to be reviewed & overturned.
