CAROLINA SPARTAN, Spartanburg, South Carolina, August 8, 1861

* First Battle of Bull Run
* Very rare Confederate title

A rare Confederate title to say the least. The front page has a report headed: "Battle of Manassas" which begins: "There never has been a more complete victory won on the Continent of America than was gained by our gallant "rebels" on Sunday last...". with much more, taking about a full column of text. Other content includes: "A Conductor a Traitor" "The Black Horse Cavalry" "From Manassas--Our Army" "Interesting From Pensacola" "The Enemy's Blunders" "The Naval Fight" "Proposed Increase of the Army" "Confederate Loan" "A Visit to Arlington Heights" and more.
Folio-size, single sheet, very nice condition.
Category: Confederate
