Confederate Act of Congress to organize a military...

Item # 656034 ·
DAILY RICHMOND EXAMINER, Virginia, March 4, 1864

* Confederate Act of Congress
* Organizing a rebel military

A very nice newspaper from the capital of the Confederate States of America. Among the front page items are: "The Enemy Around Richmond--Butler's Advance Up the Peninsula" which takes over a column; "City Intelligence" "Blockade Runner Blocked" "From the Rapid Ann--From Charleston--Sherman's Command" and other smaller items as well as many advertisements.
The back page has over 2 columns taken up with: "An Act To Organize Forces To Serve During the War" for the Confederacy (see for beginning). Also a lengthy editorial relating to the war, and "Address of Governor Vance" "Funding Confederate Notes" "General Scott On the War" and other smaller items.
Complete as a single sheet newspaper with a full banner masthead, close-trimmed at the bottom of the back page causes loss to the bottom line of the Confederate Act, otherwise in very nice condition.
