This newspaper features one of the larger & more decorative masthead engravings to be found in a colonial America newspaper.
Page 2 has a report from Wilmington, North Carolina noting: "In consequence of intelligence of the Regulators being beat, the inhabitants of this town & neighbourhood, assembled themselves together...to embody a company of men to assist his Excellency the Governor against the Regulators, and for defraying the expenses..." and also an agreement: "Whereas the people who style themselves Regulators, have daringly presumed to give battle to his Majesty's forces...in the back country, and although they have happily been defeated, threaten another attack with superior forces..." with more carrying over to page 3.
Plus there is even more on the Regulators, including: "...that upon Governor Tryon's issuing a Proclamation offering pardon to all that would come in (except the outlaws), lay don their arms, pay the taxes, and take the oath of allegiance, 2000 insurgents had come in..." with more.
Four pages, water staining but no loss of readability.
